Linear entity studies are material-intensive, and it's often difficult to track where that material is going. At Minerva, supply chain objects are also linked to lines and segments.
Demand and purchasing. The demand for materials opened for a job in a particular segment is associated with that segment.
Stock and shipment. The distance traveled by materials shipped to the site is tracked.
Consumption. The cost of pipes, coatings, fillers, and spare parts consumed is added to the cost of the relevant segment.
Contractor and subcontractor. Records are kept showing which contractor performed which section, along with progress payments and warranty tracking.
Traceability. Batch and certification information of the materials used can be associated with the segment.
The most valuable outcome of this connection is that when a problem arises later in a batch of material, you can instantly find out which kilometers of the line that batch was used on . Without this information, the only thing to do is to scan the entire line.
