The technical characteristics of a linear entity cannot be stored in a fixed card area, as they change along the line. In Minerva, these characteristics are defined at the segment level, and each segment carries its own value.

An inventory of a pipeline is about information, not its length. Knowing 200 kilometers is easy; knowing which 4 kilometers of that 200 kilometers pose a risk is what's valuable.
