Goods receipt is not complete simply by the products entering the store. The incoming shipment must be matched with the expected order or transfer, quantity and product accuracy checked, any damage or shortages recorded, and the products returned to their correct stock status.
Minerva Goods Receiving enables the controlled acceptance of products from the central warehouse, suppliers, other stores, service points, or customer returns. Expected and actual quantities can be compared using pre-shipment notifications, shipping documents, orders, or transfer records.

While part of the shipment may be accepted, the rest may be rejected due to damage or discrepancies. The system should support acceptance, conditional acceptance, rejection, and hold decisions at the product line level; and track the subsequent resolution process for discrepancies.

Certain products may be reserved for direct customer order, delivery area, or another store without being placed in store inventory. In this case, ownership and traceability must be maintained while shortening the physical flow of the product.
