Gantt Chart

A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart that shows a project schedule. Gantt charts show the start and finish dates of a project's terminal elements and summary elements.

Terminal elements and summary elements of a project comprise the work breakdown structure (WBS) of the project.

Gannt charts also show the dependency (i.e. precedence network) relationships between activities.

Viewing a Project's Gantt Chart

After adding WBS elements to a project, you can view the project's schedule by clicking the "Chart" button for the relevant project on the "Projects" screen.

Dependencies

WBS Project Network Dependencies created in Gannt charts are shown with arrows.

Viewing the Critical Path

The critical path is the sequence of project network activities that contribute to the longest overall duration.

This determines the shortest possible time to complete the project.

To display the critical path in a Gantt chart, you can check the "Highlight Critical Path" checkbox. The system will highlight the critical path.
